November/December issue of Catholic Herald Magazine is published, with the theme of stewardship as a way of life

The November-December issue of Catholic Herald magazine, the magazine of the Diocese of Sacramento, has been published.

The theme of the November-December issue is stewardship. The cover story, “God has gifted each one of us,” features the experiences of the stewardship committee of St. Patrick Parish in Grass Valley, about their dedication to stewardship as a way of living and how they have dedicated themselves to passing it on to hundreds of their fellow parishioners and some of the keys to their parish success.

Other feature stories include: how a mind-set of gratitude inspires stewardship at Holy Trinity Parish in El Dorado Hills; how parishioner Helen Montgomery of Holy Spirit Parish in Sacramento gives back with a donation, grateful for “every day the Lord has given me”; “Where the price is always right – how parishioners of St. Joseph Parish in Clarksburg distribute essentials free to the needy in their own neighborhoods; an interview with Rick Maya, director of Catholic schools and executive director of The Catholic Foundation of the diocese, who discusses the foundation, Catholic education, and the diocese’s upcoming capital campaign; how the legacy of volunteerism continues to define longtime holiday traditions in the diocese; and how Ruth Duclos, “Olympic shopper,” has been an extraordinary volunteer for 25 years of the “Magic of Christmas,” Northern Valley Catholic Social Service’s annual holiday gala.

Bishop Jaime Soto is publisher of the magazine, which is published seven times each year and includes moving faith stories and high-quality photography about Catholics in the diocese as well as news and events of the local church. Individual faith stories are the cornerstone of Catholic Herald Magazine and columns also explore the Catholic faith and educate about the teachings of the church.
