Bishop Soto, Bishop Weigand will confer the sacrament of confirmation on adults at two regional celebrations Nov. 3

On Saturday, Nov. 3, Bishop Jaime Soto and Bishop Emeritus William K. Weigand will welcome adult candidates for confirmation from parishes in the diocese two regional celebrations at St. John the Baptist Church in Chico and St. Mary Church in Vacaville.

Bishop Soto will confer the sacrament of confirmation on adults from parishes at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, located at 435 Chestnut St. in Chico. Bishop Weigand will confer the sacrament at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Church, located at 350 Stinson Ave. in Vacaville. Both bishops will confer the sacrament during the celebration of the Eucharist.

Those to be confirmed are adults who were catechized at least through the reception of the Eucharist and who are practicing their faith but have never been confirmed. The candidates have been prepared through a period of catechesis in their parishes. Candidates have also received the sacrament of penance and reconciliation as part of their preparation for confirmation.
