Radio Santisimo Sacramento will celebrate its first anniversary with an event on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Holy Family Parish, located at 7817 Old Auburn Road in Citrus Heights from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bishop Jaime Soto will preside at Mass at 2 p.m.
One year ago, the Diocese of Sacramento launched the new Spanish-language radio station to reach the growing number of Spanish-speaking people in the 20 counties of the diocese.
Radio Santismo Sacramento (Radio Most Holy Sacrament) is being overseen by Bishop Soto and a fiduciary board of lay people from various parishes in the diocese. The radio station’s studio is located at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Sacramento.
Karla Marquez, coordinator for young adult ministry in the diocese, is host of “The Bishop’s Hour” each Wednesday morning on Radio Santisimo Sacramento, where Bishop Soto is a frequent guest.
