Bishop Soto to dedicate statue of Mother of God at Maronite Catholic Church in Carmichael on Oct. 20
Our Lady of the Rosary Maronite Catholic Church has announced that the presence of the large statue of Mother of God, Our Lady of Sacramento, is now standing high in front of the church’s entrance in Carmichael.
Bishop Jaime Soto will dedicate and bless the statue on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. during a rosary walk for world peace at Our Lady of the Rosary, located at 6811 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael.
Father Nabil Mouannes is now the pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary. He notes that there have been many changes at the church, including a new garden, a remodeld hall and the chapel is furnished now with many Eastern features. The liturgy is celebrated at 11:30 a.m. every Sunday.
“Economically, the world is in crisis. Politically the Middle East is in crisis and a lot of Christian communities are being persecuted in the world,” said Father Moannes. “Many tensions do exist between our cultures, That’s why the whole world needs peace. Let us come and be united for this walk. World peace deserves our courage, our attention, our prayers and our goodwill.”
The public is invited to attend. For more information, send an e-mail inquiry to mccsacramento@gmail.com or call Carolyn Aboubechara at (916) 832-2288.
