Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Father William Feeser on Friday, Sept. 7 in Sacramento
A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Father William Feeser, a retired priest of the Diocese of Sacramento, on Friday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, located at 3263 First Ave. in Sacramento. Father Feeser died on Sept. 4. He was 69. A vigil service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church.
A native of Darby, Penn., Father Feeser received his education at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, Penn., and also attended the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1977 by Bishop Alden J. Bell of the Diocese of Sacramento.
Father Feeser served at numerous parishes in the Diocese of Sacramento during his priestly ministry. He was assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Carmichael from 1977 to 1982 and of St. James Parish in Davis from 1982 to 1988. He was in residence at All Hallows and St. Robert parishes in Sacramento and later served as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Parish in Red Bluff and St. Mary Parish in Vacaville.
Father Feeser taught theology and was adviser to the yearbook during his years as a teacher at Jesuit High School in Carmichael, from 1982 to 1995. He was also a teacher at St. Francis High School in Sacramento and served as a chaplain at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento from 2001 to 2008, while in residence at Immaculate Conception Parish. He retired from active ministry in July 2010.
Father Feeser is survived by his sister, Christina Jackson, of Pennsylvania.
