Bishop Soto to speak about "faithful citizenship" at Theology on Tap gathering for young adults on Thursday, Aug. 30 in Vallejo
Bishop Jaime Soto will speak about faithful citizenship at a “Theology on Tap” gathering for young adults on Thursday, Aug. 30. The event will be held at Zio Fraedo’s restaurant, located at 23 Harbor Way in Vallejo.
The bishop will speak about the Catholic Church’s teaching on issues and involvement in the political process. “Faithful Citizenship” is an initiative of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Their document, “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship,” a call to political responsibility, was issued by the U.S. bishops in 2007 and reissued last fall.
Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by Bishop Soto’s talk at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to watch a promotional video, visit the website of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Vallejo at http://stcatherinevallejo.org.
