Ministry Days 2012 set for Sept. 28-29 at St. Francis High School in Sacramento; theme is "Agents of the New Evangelization"

The diocese’s Department of Evangelization and Catechesis has announced Ministry Days 2012, with the theme of “Agents of the New Evangelization.”

The ministry days will be held at St. Francis High School, located at 5900 Elvas Ave. in Sacramento. Many inspirational keynote presentations, as well as practical and helpful workshops, will be offered in both English and Spanish.

Friday, Sept. 28 is a day for all parish pastoral staff, including clergy, ministry leaders, Catholic school principals and teachers. Saturday, Sept. 29 is open to everyone involved in parish ministries. Workshops will be offered in the following ministry areas: adult faith formation, bereavement, catechetical leadership, confirmation, extraordinary ministers of Communion, first Eucharist and first reconciliation, intergenerational faith formation, justice and service, lector ministry, liturgy, music ministry, respect life, stewardship, marriage preparation, and young adult and youth ministry.

Nearly 2,000 ministry leaders are expected to attend over the two days of formation, inspiration and networking. Keynote speakers will include Hector Molina, Steve Angrisano, Mike Carotta and Maruja Sedano.

Registration between Sept. 17 and Sept. 24 is $30 per day. Pre-registration closes on Sept. 24 and registration at the door on the day of the event is $35.
